Zoya Indigo and Rainy Bay Area Weather

It seems every time I want to take some good swatch pictures I look out the window and see rain! I haven't invested in lights yet so I rely mostly on good old fashioned sunlight to get the job done. Lately mother nature has not been cooperating with me tho and it seemed like all my swatch photos were doomed. Until there was a break in the rain with some great sunlight and I was able to get some decent photos for you guys!

So here is my nails of the week? I guess you could say. This is Zoya Indigo and I really like the color but it turned out way darker than I expected. In the photo I have on two thin coats but I could have gotten away with just one. I think I'll try that next time and compare how dark it is doing it that way. I was a little disappointed that this wasn't as metallic looking of a blue on as it is in the bottle. It's still lovely on but its a very very dark polish that I don't think everyone would like. The glitter in this polish was just okay it felt a bit gritty when it dried but strangely enough it did not feel that way when I was applying it. It also didn't actually glitter very much once on unless it hit the light just right.

I did not use a top coat or a base coat and it lasted 4 days without any chips. Four days is pretty good for me because I usually start to peel my polish off on the second day out of habit... I know its bad but I just can't help it! That's why I wore acrylics for a few years because you can't just pick that stuff off ;)

This bottle retails for $8.00 and can be purchased at Zoya.com this one of the bottles I picked up with my two free polishes in that promo they had back in January. Overall I think I'll have to play with it a bit to get just the right amount of color and glitter but I will give it a second chance.

P.s Please forgive my shabby paint job :)

Have you tried Zoya?
