May 2012 Glossybox US

It's here it's here! The much anticipated Glossybox US has finally arrived at my door step, I can't begin to tell you how awesome this box is.

What haven't heard of Glossybox? Here's a little about them:

"Each month we curate a box of 5 luxury travel-sized beauty products for you to lather, blend, soak, spray, buff, and groom with. Indulge and experience luxury at its finest for $21 per month"

They are in more than 15 countries now and deliver products that are trending all over the world.

Now you might be thinking that $21 a month for a sample subscription is a bit crazy but let me tell you so far they have surpassed all the other sample subs by leaps and bounds!

The packaging is quite impressive and highly reusable since the box is sturdy. It also comes with tissue paper, a bit of ribbon, and of course the well detailed info card. I don't mind paying more for the packing alone to be honest. Once I get enough boxes I plan on turning it into some sort of extra dandy storage.

Now lets get into what was in it...

First up we have the Glossybox Blush brush, which I can only assume was an extra as it is not listed on the card. You all know how I feel about brushes in sample boxes so this part is just meh for me but at least it didn't stink :)

Next we have the Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra-Gel. Whew that was a long name. I haven't had a chance to try this yet but it does smell lovely, very clean. The sample size is also quite nice I can really get enough uses to tell if I like it or not.

Onto the Phyto Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask for Dry Hair, say that 10 times fast! I have actually used Phyto products in the past and really loved them. I tried it out once already and love how it makes my hair feel more to come on that in a later post!

Then we have the Burberry Beauty Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick in Copper No. 202. I was a little worried that the copper shade wouldn't work well with my coloring but I'm pleased as punch to say it looks great. Swatches of that will be in a future post :)

One of my favorite products in this box is the Zoya nail polish in Rory from their Beach and Surf Collection. This one is from the Surf side of the line so it is a pink with cool tones and fine silver sparkles.

Now we come to the Marvis Whitening toothpaste. Not the first product I would have thought of for them to put in there but I was running out of toothpaste so this works out, can't wait to give it a try.

I think it is also important to note that Glossybox is working on a store where you will be able to purchase products that were in your box and they will be instilling a "Glossydots" system which from what I hear is very similar to the Birchbox Points system. You will be able to review products on their website for points. So once they have that up and running I think it will only add to the likeability of this sample service.

Right now subs are sold out but if you are interested I highly recommend getting on the newsletter list so you can be contacted when they open again. So far they have done them on a first come first serve basis.

My only gripe so far is that the shipping company they use was a bit on the slow side, but I do live on the opposite side of the US from them.

So what do you think of Glossybox, would you pay $21 a month for this sample subscription?

P.s Sorry for the extra strange layout of this post with so many pictures blogger was being a pain to work with.

  2. WHOA, this box is amazing! I haven't tried Birchbox or Glossybox, but I really want to, even though I'm afraid I'll get something I don't really like too much...

  3. I love the Zoya Nailpolish! I'm not sure about the $21 though. It does seem totally worth it, but I'm subbed to BB, Myglam, and now Cravebox. I have to cute one out already because I start School soon and we all know how tough times are being in college. Nice review though!!<3

    1. I agree! I like the lipstick a lot too i was a little worried about the color being not right for my skin tone but I really feel like this could be a universal shade because it's quite sheer. No way! You better use that bad boy or I'm going to have to come steal it from you :) lolol

    1. I know right, so excited it's finally here. That sucks what is up with these company's sending stinky brushes not cool. I don't blame you I would have trashed mine too had it smelled.

  21. Glossybox US definitely has me interested but I want to keep an eye on how the boxes continue to go before I commit. $21 is a little pricy for samples. I could get a few products a month that I know I want to try out for that much so we'll see how they continue.

  22. That Zoya color is adorable! A great box, but I don't know if I would fork over the twenty dollars for products as I already have enough!
