My Nightmare Passenger Story

As some of you know I'm going to be going to be flying back to visit my family at the end of the month so I thought now would be a good time to share with you guys my nightmare passenger story about a woman I had the misfortune of sitting next to.

I have sat next to some nightmare passengers on some of my flights but I have to say this lady I'm about to tell you about takes the cake. Your  probably going to be appalled at her behavior. On one of my flights from Detroit to SF I had to sit next to this woman for about 5 hours and she was all about crowding others personal space. I kid you not the whole time I was ready to throw her out the emergency exit.

The first thing she did when we got in the air was take off her shoes and put her un-socked feet up on the backs of the armrest's of the row in front of us. I don't know about you guys but I think feet are pretty icky especially when they are some random strangers feet! Now I don't mind people taking their shoes off but when she also took off her socks and then proceeded to use the armrest's in front of us like they were her personal foot rest she really crossed a line.

Unfortunately for me she didn't stop there it wasn't very comfortable putting her feet up on the armrest so she decided it would be okay for her to sit Indian style in her seat... Keep in mind she was in the middle and while she was a small lady she wan't small enough to do that. I have very little patience for people invading my personal bubble so when her icky foot touched my leg on more than on occasion I almost lost it. After I warned her very nicely once she just so happened to touch me again. I'm going to be honest my second warning wasn't really a warning it was more of non verbal fierce stare, but lucky for me she got the hint that I wasn't about to sit there for the rest of the flight with her gross foot touching my leg.

After I gave her the evil eye she toned down her bubble invading but she was still extra annoying because she was super fidgety and just not someone I would ever want to get stuck next to ever again.

Do you have any Nightmare Passenger Stories?
If you do how did you handle that person?

  1. ugh that sounds awful. I sat next to a passenger (an older guy) who was constantly talking to me. Nice enough, but I was clearly trying to read a book and he wouldn't shut up the entire time!

  2. ewwww that's gross. i hope her feet didn't stink!

i prefer not to have a conversation with the person i'm sitting next to if i don't know them... even if it's a long flight. i'd rather read a book, watch whatever is showing or sleep.

  6. Yes-- that is awful--- but I've dealt with worse! Once, on a cross-Atlantic flight the man in the seat behind me got wasted, spent half the flight using racial slurs and at one point jumped up and kissed the top of my head. Not to surprising, he was arrested on landing!

  11. Wow. Never had it that bad. Sucks that airlines are making seats smaller too. The icky feet would definitely bother me.

  12. Wow, that is super impolite! And yes, bare feet all over everything is gross. I'm not really grossed out by feet, but just putting them wherever you want is not okay. I hope you get a better passenger partner next time! <3

  14. Ugh that sounds AWFUL. I hate people invading my space, especially on plane's where there is so little space to be had to start with!

  17. i had the pleasure of a window seat on a flight to paris stuck to two men who stayed asleep the entire 8-hour flight. i tried waking them up and so did a flight attendant. i had to pee and just sat there and cried--i don't have the ability to sleep on planes. never again.

  18. Wow! What was she thinking, i mean come on, taking off your socks is just creepy. I have been lucky enough to not have had any weirdos and I have been 8 flights this year. I am planning on traveling again in a month and I hope that I don't get anyone weird that time either! Usually I fly Southwest so I love that I can pick my seat and if I want to sit in the back with no one else then I can do it!

Stopping by to say thanks for joining the Followers to Friends Blog Hop!
