New Year New Resolutions

With a new year comes new resolutions but I will be the first to admit that I am really bad at keeping resolutions and well I haven't even started on this years. What better a time than today to go ahead and get those out of the way though I mean I will be lucky if I can stick to at least a few of them!

I try not to go for the typical workout more and eat less resolutions because while those are nice resolutions I just can't stick to them. Yes I want to eat healthier and but I already do a pretty good job of that I think and yes I would love to be able to work out all the time but it's just not realistic for me. I loathe working out in public anyway, all those leering strangers + me working out just makes me feel 100% more self conscious so I much prefer to work out alone at home where no one can gawk, lol. Don't try to tell me that there are not gawkers at the gym every gym has one if yours doesn't your not aware of your surroundings!
Now that we've got that out of the way lets talk about what I'm really going to try to do this year, I'm going to try to keep them simple.

1. Spend less money on things I really don't need
This is going to be the hardest thing for me to do because as you all know I very much have a shopping problem. To help me accomplish this I'm going to start keeping a spreadsheet of all the things I'm spending money on and putting them into Need or Want categories. Hopefully if I do this I will be able to concur my shopping habit, but who am I kidding? I'm not going to hold my breath this is going to take a lot of effort!

2. Make more of an effort to stay in contact with family and friends
As we all get caught up in our own lives and day to day routines some things slip thru the cracks. This year I'm going to make much more of an effort to stay in touch with my family and friends near and far.

3. Be more organized
I don't know what's come over me because I used to be a lot more organized than I currently am. My desk is a hot mess and so is my makeup stash, so I'm going to do my best this year to keep all things in my life a bit more organized.

4. Spend less time being consumed by social media
Over the last few months I have found myself pretty caught up in anything and everything that involves social media this blog included. This year I'm going to try and have my phone glued to my hand less and unplug from the internet all together for at least a few hours a day. That means no phone in hand while out doing something, no phone in hand while trying to cook dinner so I can keep up with twitter, and no phone in hand first thing when I wake up it can sit on the night stand it's not going to go anywhere.

Those are my resolutions this year hopefully I can stick to them. Happy New Year everyone and thank you for continuing to read my blog! <3

  1. I am also working on getting more organized this year. I really fell apart at the end of last year after having my baby. But now I am extra motivated to get on top of things as we have lots of changes going on at our home.

Also on my list is to take more risks. Again, this was something I started doing last year, but once I was sequestered to bed rest, I didn't have many opportunities. This year I plan on putting myself out there whenever I can!

Hope you have a great new year!!!

  2. Happy New Year, Ashley! I too am trying to get organized. CRAP. It seems like it should be easy, but getting the foundation is the hardest! Good luck!
