Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream
If you guys caught my post last month about my December Ipsy Glam Bag you know I received a sample of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm with SPF 20. Now that I've had a chance to try it out and since it's being officially released today I thought I'd give you guys the run down on what I thought about this product.
First just let me say that I generally have never met an Urban Decay product I didn't like aside from their mascara and I hate to say it but I don't like this BB cream either.
As far as BB cream goes I haven't had a lot of luck with them anyway because I am so fair. However not only is the color an issue for me and this product but also how it wears and the consistency.
Let me start with the color when this is fully blended into the skin I find it gives me an almost orange haze that is especially noticeable in natural light. I'm sure this was from the product oxidizing as that has been my problem with most BB creams and albeit this wasn't nearly as orange as others I've tried it was still noticeable.
Next the wear was not nearly as good as I would have expected from a Urban Decay Product. Just hours into wearing only this product on my face I started to feel oily. Now I do have oily combo skin so this was something I expected but not around 4 hours into wearing it. The next day I set this with some MUFE HD powder and still found myself oily after a few hours of wear. When I used this under my foundation I had the same problem but much worse, think hot mess. This BB cream offers little to no coverage so for someone like me who's skin is far from perfect adding a foundation is a must and being super oily after such a short time with this product underneath is a bummer.
Last the consistency of the product is very thin and watery. It spreads very well but it makes your skin feel a little too slick and I think this is the where the flaw lies in the product. The ingredients that make the skin so slick are more than likely the culprits that are making it slide off my face in just a few short hours.
I really wanted to love this product because it's Urban Decay and they rarely let me down but I can't recommend this product after my experience from the sample.
The full size product retails for $34.00 and can be found at Urban Decay online. The price is comparable to other BB creams that are on the market right now but I think there are better products within the price range.
What do you think of the new Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream?
