NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper in Liv

This is one of the products I picked in up in my Cherry Culture haul a month or so ago. I wanted to give it a long trial run before I wrote a review on it, almost immediately I knew this was going to be a great product. I payed only $3-$5 for this product as I got it on sale at the time. I think its a great price point for a lip plumper even if its not on sale ($6). Also at the time I purchased this a lot of the colors I wanted to try were sold out so I only ended up getting the clear one, I plan on trying some of the other colors after the holidays. Compared to Du Wop ($16) or Sexy Mother Pucker ($15) this is a very affordable lip plumper.

I would say this is a great lip plumper of course it doesn't give you Angelina lips ( I wish it would tho lol) but it does give your lips a slightly fuller look. As with other lip products this gives a  tingly sensation. I would say this is no where near the tingle you get with Du Wop or Sexy Mother Pucker, if your sensitive and can't handle the tingle this could be a nice alternative to those to try out. This has doe foot applicator instead of a brush which I don't so much mind I find the doe foot easier to apply compared to a brush applicator.

The formula for this is rather thin, its not sticky but I do find if you apply too much of the product it can start to look cakey. By applying too much I mean repeatedly applying it like chap stick just for the warm sensation (Yes I did do this while I was trying it out just because I liked the way it felt lol). It doesn't stand up to eating or drinking but I have not found a lip gloss that does. Another nice thing about this formula is that it does leave your lips feeling moisturized while its on and after its worn off. One thing I don't like about this is the strange taste, it almost taste like watered down black pepper. Its not enough to make my face srunch up but its just enough to be bothersome. I try my best to just let it sit on my lips and not lick them when I have it on just because of the taste. To me it doesn't have a smell but I don't really have the best sense of smell so I could just be missing it.

I couldn't find a list of ingredients anywhere on the NYX site so here are they are pulled directly from my clear Liv pump it up bottle.

Ingredients: Mineral Oil, Mineral Oil, Pentaerythril Telraisosterate, c18-38 Alkyl Hdroxysteroyl Sterate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Hydrogenated Styrene/Isoprene Copolymer, Disostearly Malate, Polygycerlyl-2 Trilosostearate, Silicia Dimethyl Silylate, Tocpheryl acetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, BHA, Vanillyl Butyl Ether, Polyethylene Terphthalate. The lettering on the bottle is super tiny so please forgive me for any typo's!

Overall I like it and I'll definitely try other colors from this line. For the money its a great lip plumper especially if you don't want to spend a lot on it.

  1. This product looks interesting. I'll take a better look at it in their website

  2. I tried this out not too long ago and was so put off by the tingling/burning feeling that I never tried it again.

  3. Thanks for the comments ladies!

@Barbara following you as well found you threw Trace Face Philes! :)

@Courtney I usually use Sexy mother pucker by Soap and Glory and the tingle for me is far less than that one. I'm probably a little to used to the strong burn of Sexy mother pucker. Too bad it didn't work out for you :(

  4. I LOVE NYX anything, actually, haha. I find that their products work really well for the price that you pay! I haven't tried their lip plumper before, but may have to pick up a tube now! Thanks for the review!
