Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Very Light

Purchased By Me

I am happy to report that my search for a BB Cream or in this case a CC Cream that is light enough for my skin tone and doesn’t oxidize has finally ended. I have been using this Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream for about a month now and I’m in love with it. I use this product almost every day, it’s been hotter here so I’ve wanted fewer products on my face and this does the job. Not only do you get moderate coverage but it also has an SPF 35 in it giving you two products in one, perfect for the hot summer months.

Scent wise this has a light sunscreen smell to it, not too bad but quite noticeable when your first putting it on. After it has dried the smell dissipates quite a bit and during wear you can’t really smell it on your face.

I use less of this for my whole face then I would my normal foundation because it’s a bit thicker in consistency. Also important to note is that it dries fairly quickly so I suggest using this product in sections on your face. I apply mine with my fingers to sections of my face and then blend it into the skin with a Beauty Blender. If I’m in a rush to get out the door I will only use my fingers but I personally like the finish I get more with the help of the Beauty Blender. I would say that this has a dewy finish and feels lightweight throughout the day.

My favorite part about this CC Cream is how well it color corrects redness. I have noticeable redness on my cheeks and chin and applying this helps minimize and even out my skin tone. For other tones like dark circles it does help lessen them but not as well as it does redness.

I have worn this under powder foundation as well and when doing that it kicks up the coverage from moderate to full in my opinion. It wears well under powder foundation and still feels fairly lightweight even with an added product on top.

As far as it being moisturizing I'm a bit on the fence about that one as I haven't noticed much of a difference in that regard. I do have a few dry spots on my face which haven't either improved or worsened while using this product and heads up if you have dry spots it's going to take some serious blending to make those parts not look cakey or flaky, but it can be achieved.

This product retails for $35.00 usd and comes in 9 shades, yes I said nine! The range of colors on this line is another added bonus because it can match so many skin tones.

What do you think of Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream?

  1. Hi Ashley! I think we "liked" some of each other's photos on Instagram through The August Break. I came by to check out your blog and have really enjoyed reading it! Also, I have been looking at this Clinique CC Cream and was wondering about it, so really appreciated reading this review. I have pretty fair skin too, so I need a nice light colour. I don't wear a lot of makeup but have been looking for something light to use for a bit of daily wear. Just wanted to pop by and say "hi" and thanks for all the great review! :)

  2. Hey Sara! We have you take some great pics :) No problem I know how hard it can be to find a good BB/CC Cream without it oxidizing and making us look orange.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by I appreciate it <33
